We managed to visit the half a century old cafe which is located at Jalan Dhoby, Johor Bahru. Claimed to be “The Best Chicken Chop in Town”, IT Roo Cafe was founded in 1961 specialises in Hailam fares. A walk down the memory lane experience with all those old photos and ornaments in the cafe. Signature Root Beer Float (RM 5.50) Chilled and frothy Root Beer float for the scorching afternoon. Fried Chicken Chop with Mushroom Sauce (RM13.00) A big slab of chicken drumstick was breaded then deep fried to perfect golden brown lying on pool of mushroom sauce. The chicken was crispy on the outer with succulent & juicy tender inner however I found that the mushroom sauce was a bit under seasoned. Grilled Chicken Chop with Black Pepper Sauce (RM 13.00) .A healthier option of grilled chicken chop also available with choices of mushroom sauce or black pepper sauce.   While the chicken chop was far from being “The Best” in my book, the fried wedges was executed well. The crispy edges and the firm inner provide a good bite, very delectable indeed. Verdict: Maybe not the best I’ve tried but definitely comparable or better than most of the chicken chop at KL.  Further than that , they also provided aisna cuisine like Chinese Fried Rice and Mee Goreng too.
